The Human Rights Violations Victims’ Memorial Commission (HRVVMC) held its exit conference for FY 2022 together with the Commission on Audit (COA) last 25 April 2023 at the Board Room of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) in Quezon City in line with the two agencies’ mutual advocacy toward promoting transparency and accountability in government service.

An exit conference is the meeting at the end of an audit engagement where the auditors and auditees meet to discuss the findings of the audit and the rightful recommendations based on the official report.

Supervising Auditor Joey I. Bernardino of COA Cluster 3 – Legislative, Judiciary and Constitutional Offices and State Auditor III Leerena B. Malasaga of Audit Group E – Team 4 presented and explained their findings to the HRVVMC.

CHR and HRVVMC Chairperson Richard P. Palpal-latoc thanked COA for its observations and recommendations and subsequently directed the HRVVMC Management Committee to address the said observations.

HRVVMC through Deputy Executive Director Lawrence Charles E. Salazar assured Chairperson Palpal-latoc and COA that it will take immediate actions to address the observations and has manifested its request for a regular meeting between COA and HRVVMC Management at least once every two months to guide the latter as one of the youngest agencies within the Philippine bureaucracy.

COA, through Supervising Auditor Bernardino, responded positively to this request and anticipates the actions on the observations raised by their audit team.
